WILDFLOWERS OF GIRRAWEEN
001. Story time… These images come from a photography project that was part of my last assignment submitted for my bachelor degree - which I submitted last week! It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster finally finishing this degree.. I originally thought I was set to be graduating back in July, but alas my messy course structure had other plans. When I found out I would have to take another semester just for one subject … I almost called it quits! But figuring out I could take a photography course online to make up final course credit points was a subtle light at the end of the tunnel.
002. Photography has been a creative medium I fell in love with years ago. It’s been a faithful friend and useful tool across so many adventures, jobs and creative projects. For this task, I am so grateful I chose to combine my passions of photography, hiking/camping and native australian flora- it really helped me reconnect to my digital photographic practice and remember what gets me excited about capturing moments.
003. Part of my pitch for the project included a printed photo book, with 16 images selected to presented the project. These images are of my final results! The book is printed on recycled paper by the legends at Print Together, who have also been loyal companions to a girl finishing a design degree. I adore printed projects - there’s something so special about having your hands of a finalised project in print in a digital design world - especially when it’s images of tiny delicate native aussie wildflowers… small but mighty... showcasing their beauty.
004. Check out my ‘east coast aus’ album in my photography portfolio, to see the images full size.
