NATURAL EARTH PIGMENT PAINTINGS
001. This year, I was working + living in the oldest continually surviving rainforest on the entire earth. The Daintree Rainforest is magic- it’s dense, wet, tropical, abundant + wild. I spent six months living in a small community, making art + exploring the creeks, hills + secrets of Mama Daintree.
002. During this time, I started collecting rocks + experimenting making paint with natural earth pigments from the land around me. The paint pigments in all of the art in this post were collected with love, care + intention on Eastern Kuku Yalanji land. I am so grateful for this Daintree chapter, opening me up to all the sacred magic of the earth, creating in community + connecting back to the land with my personal art practice rooted in nature.
003. A few of these originals are for sale, there’s a highlight saved on my personal instagram + @shopfrockled. Art shouldn’t cost the earth. I am so excited to keep creating + experimenting in union with nature.
